The S2000 was released in 1999. It is a roadster in the true sense of the word. Not many cars come close for balance and refinement.A 184 kw engine takes the 1270 kg convertible from
0 -100 kmh in 6 seconds. So how do you get huge power
out of a 2.0 litre motor?
iVTEC. iVTEC was designed to make engines that produce 100hp
per litre. Engines run better if they have different amounts
of lift and timing at low revs then they do at high revs. by enabling the engine to change these settings. The engine will produce more power and use less fuel.

The S-2000 has the most powerful naturally aspirated 2-litre engine found in a production car. The engine revs to nine thousand rpm, which allows it to produce as much power as most of performance sixes or even your average older V8. This motor is well suited to the car being very compact and reasonably light. It also has a beautiful sound that almost sounds like an f-1 car when really punched.
It's a great step forward for honda producing this old idea and doing it better than anyone else. I mean look at it, it's beautiful and has no roof. The perfect car for the weekend on or off the track. You can pick a descent one up for under $30,000 these days. Do yourself a favour and get one.
