ImageMitsubishi Motors Corporation is the fifth largest automaker in Japan and the thirteenth largest in the world by unit sales. It is part of the Mitsubishi keiretsu, formerly the biggest industrial group in Japan.,

The logo of three red diamonds, shared with over forty other companies within the keiretsu, predates Mitsubishi Motors itself by almost a century. It was chosen by Yataro Iwasaki, the founder of Mitsubishi, as it was suggestive of the emblem of the Tosa Clan who first employed him, and because his own family crest was three rhombuses stacked atop each other. The name Mitsubishi is a portmanteau of mitsu ("three") and hishi (literally, "water chestnut", often used in Japanese to denote a diamond or rhombus).

Image Number 10 is Alive !

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution first entered the sports car market in 1992 with the number one. It had 250 bhp and all wheel drive. It was succeeded by the two and three which shared the same body shell. A new shape arrived in 1995 while the engine put out 280 bhp. The evo five was launched in 1998 and with a stockier body it gave the average onlooker an idea of the power and agility inside. The best evo ever was the tommi makinen evo 6.5. It was the last of the nineties shape and had staggering acceleration. The car had a wild body kit and extra goodies.

Over the years the all wheel drive sedan has attracted quite a following. When the seven came out some of these fans may have been a bit disappointed. The brutal looks had somewhat dissipated. The car had actually evolved with a bit more torque and an active transmission. The drive is still just as good in the current nine. The car is seriously fast achieving 0 – 100 in as little as 4.4 seconds (Jap spec). There have also been some special modified editions making up to 400 bhp. The evolution ten has to be even better right? If it isn’t then we might become monkeys again. Mitsubishi have not released the evo 10. The original prototype was released last year. With its wide stance and futuristic interior it got a lot of people excited.
